— -- As the worst of last weekend's snowstorm began, the most of the residents of Washington, D.C. started to settle in their homes for the night -- except for a couple of men on snowboards.

Brendan Kittredge and his friends spent the better part of Jan. 23 taking turns pulling each other behind Brendan's Jeep down the unplowed and mostly-deserted streets of Washington, posting the highlights of their day in a video on YouTube.

The video shows the men flying by the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol Building and even running into D.C. Police at one point.

Coincidentally, Kittredge and his friends had no idea that a few men in New York City were spending their weekend doing the same thing.

Kittredge, who grew up in New Hampshire, said he's pretty accustomed to what was historic snowfall for Washington. He told ABC News that although snowboarding through the empty city was something he'd always wanted to do, the men did make sure that they were't putting themselves or the occasional pedestrian in any danger.
