Donald Trump prompted outrage today after saying that he "appreciate[s] the congrats for being right on Islamic terrorism" in light of a massacre at an Orlando, Florida, nightclub.

At least 50 people died and 53 others were hospitalized after a deadly shooting at Pulse, a gay club there.

The tweet caused a firestorm online, with backlash coming quickly from other famous names both in and outside the political arena.

Meghan McCain, a Republican commentator and a daughter of Sen. John McCain, questioned the message Trump was sending.

Actor George Takei weighed in and shamed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Singer John Legend, who has been critical of Trump, used today's tweet as a reason to call him "truly an awful person."
