Melania Trump: 'Our Culture Has Gotten Too Mean and Too Rough.' TALES FROM THE TRAIL

ABC’s JESSICA HOPPER: In a presidential race full of historical firsts, Tim Kaine made a little history of his own today, delivering a campaign speech in only Spanish in Phoenix, Arizona. Kaine’s delivery of remarks in Spanish mark a first for a candidate on a presidential ticket. "There is so much in play for the Latino community that it’s important that our campaign reach out in a language that is spoken by so many families throughout the country. My Spanish is not perfect and thank you for your patience with my Spanish,” Kaine said. The Clinton campaign provided an English translation of Kaine’s remarks as he spoke. "Latinos will have a very important voice in this election and the option is crystal clear. On the one hand is Hillary Clinton," Kaine said. "On the other hand, there's Donald Trump who is someone who thinks, someone who thinks that reaching out to the Latino community means tweeting a picture of a taco bowl.”

ABC’s INES DE LA CUETARA: At a rally in Prole, Iowa, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz spoke about his "friend" Mike Pence and said he looked forward to calling him "Mr. Vice-President" but made zero mention of Donald Trump. At his second and last campaign rally of the day with Pence, Cruz did name Donald Trump. “If your health insurance premiums have gone up, like just about every persons in America, then you ought to vote for Donald Trump and Mike Pence and Republicans up and down the ticket,” Cruz said. Cruz also told reporters that he voted for Trump on Monday.

ABC’s JOSH HASKELL: Hillary Clinton took the stage in Winterville, North Carolina after being introduced by Mae Wiggins, an African American woman who says she was the victim of housing discrimination in a Trump building back in 1963. Clinton reached out to black voters during her speech saying her opponent “has no idea” about "the strength of the black church, the vibrancy of black owned businesses, the excellence of historically black colleges and universities, the rise of a new generation of black activists for social justice! And the success of black leaders in every field.” Clinton talked about the World Series champion Chicago Cubs, who said she has been a “fan all my life.” “It's been a long time. 108 years, to win a championship and make history....So last night was very special, on lots of fronts. Who knows, maybe we'll seen even more history made in a few days. You know, the last time the Cubs won, women couldn't vote. I think women are making up for that in this election.”
