Obama: Shoo, Fly, Don't Bother Me!
PETA swatted at President Obama for killing a bug -- but could you hurt a fly?
— -- Flies and termites and bees, oh my! President Obama took a bit of heat from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals after he swatted a fly that had been pestering him during a television interview.
The unfortunate fly met its demise at the hands of the president, who declared "I got the sucker" after the fatal swat.
Bruce Friedrich, VP for Policy at PETA, acknowledged that Obama has championed animal rights causes in the past, but said the organization advocates "brushing flies away rather than killing them."
The organization sent a Katcha Bug trapping device to the White House for future run-ins with bothersome bugs.
But are some insects just more ripe for the flicking than others? Which would you swat?
