“This Week” Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54 for Sunday, June 5, 2016

— -- ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” stood as Sunday’s No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (960,000) on June 5, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” (748,000) by 212,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (934,000) by 26,000.

“This Week” delivered double-digit increases week to week (2.315 million and 650,000, respectively, for 5/29/16) in both Total Viewers (+38%) and Adults 25-54 (+48%), posting its best performance in the key adult news demo in 4 weeks – since 5/8/16.

“This Week” also scored double-digit gains on the year-ago Sunday (2.640 million and 851,000, respectively, on 6/7/15) in both Total Viewers (+21%) and Adults 25-54 (+13%).

Season to date, “This Week” leads CBS’ “Face the Nation” by 21,000 Adults 25-54 (952,000 vs. 931,000), beating the CBS program by its largest news demo margin in 8 years – since the 2007-08 season.

“This Week” is improving in both Total Viewers (+16% - 3.286 million vs. 2.841 million) and Adults 25-54 (+9% - 952,000 vs. 875,000) versus its year-ago season averages. In fact, “This Week” is drawing its largest overall audience in 17 years and posting its strongest news demo performance in 7 years – since the 1998-99 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

NOTE: Due to the French Open, “Meet the Press” was retitled to “Meet the Press-MTP” and the telecast is excluded from the season averages.
