“GMA” is #1 for the Week in Total Viewers Leading in All 50 Weeks of the Season

— -- ABC’s “Good Morning America” finished as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (4.779 million) for the week of August 31, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” beat “Today” (4.323 million) by 456,000 Total Viewers to lead in all 50 weeks of the season. In addition, “GMA” increased its lead over the NBC program from the previous week by 14% (vs. +401,000 for w/o 8/24/15)

“GMA” improved over its previous week’s performance in Total Viewers (+2% - 4.779 million vs. 4.682 million on w/o 8/24/15) to draw its most-watched week since June – since w/o 6/15/15.

Season to date, “GMA” is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. “GMA” is leading “Today” by 545,000 Total Viewers and by 100,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” is ranking No. 1 for the 3rd straight season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54.

During the week, “GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+45%/ +1.484 million), Adults 25-54 (+82%/+735,000) and Adults 18-49 (+67%/ +441,000), leading the CBS program by its largest overall viewer advantage in 9 weeks – since w/o 6/29/15.

In addition, “GMA” won August 2015 in both Total Viewers (4.621 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.611 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” beat “Today” (4.173 million and 1.557 million, respectively) by 448,000 Total Viewers and by 54,000 Adults 25-54 during the month.
