“This Week" Ranks #1 in Adults 25-54 for the 3rd Time in Last 4 Weeks

“This Week” Outperforms “Meet the Press” by Largest Total Viewer Margin in Over 6 months

Season to Date, “This Week” is Delivering its Strongest News Demo Performance in 6 years

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (896,000) on May 31, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Taking the top spot for the 3rd time in its last 4 telecasts, “This Week” led CBS’ “Face the Nation” (+94,000), NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+127,000).

In addition, “This Week” outperformed “Meet the Press” by 349,000 Total Viewers (2.818 million vs. 2.469 million), its biggest in over 6 months (since 10/5/14) and 2nd-largest overall this season.

“This Week” surged by double-digits on its performance the previous week (2.199 million and 734,000, respectively, for 5/24/15) in both Total Viewers (+28%) and Adults 25-54 (+22%), turning in its most-watched telecast in 10 weeks – since 3/22/15.

For the 3rd time in the last 4 weeks, “This Week” built on the same Sunday last year (2.744 million and 800,000, respectively, on 6/1/15) in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+12%). In fact, “This Week” has delivered year-to-year news demo gains in 9 of its last 10 telecasts.

Season to date, “This Week” is up in Adults 25-54 (+4% - 876,000 vs. 846,000) versus its year-ago season average, delivering its strongest news demo performance in 6 years – since the 2008-09 season. In fact, “This Week” is the only program to grow in Adults 25-54 compared to CBS’ “Face the Nation” (flat), NBC’s “Meet the Press” (-2%) and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday” (-1%).

In addition, “This Week” is outdelivering NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers (+20,000) and Adults 25-54 (+63,000) for the 2nd year in a row, seeing its largest news demo lead in 21 years – since the 1993-94 season.
