ABC News’ “World News Tonight with David Muir” drew 7.987 million Total Viewers, 1.722 million Adults 25-54 and 1.229 million Adults 18-49 for the week of April 11, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
“World News Tonight” turned in Total Viewer increases both week to week (+1% - 7.987 million vs. 7.929 million for w/o 4/4/16) and year to year (+1% - 7.987 million vs. 7.891 million for w/o 4/13/15).
“World News Tonight” cut its margins with “NBC Nightly News” from the previous week by double digits in both Total Viewers (-24% - 296,000 vs. 387,000) and Adults 18-49 (-18% - 138,000 vs. 168,000), seeing its closest overall viewer performance in 5 weeks – since w/o 3/7/16.
Season to date, “World News Tonight” is narrowing its Total Viewer season margin with “NBC Nightly News” by double digits (-41% - 268,000 vs. 452,000) for the 2nd-straight season, posting its closest overall viewer performance with the NBC program in 8 years – since the 2007-08 season.
For the week, “World News Tonight” beat the “CBS Evening News” by 1.190 million Total Viewers, by 183,000 Adults 25-54 and by 164,000 Adults 18-49.
