Q&A: Dennis Franz

— -- Every week on NYPD Blue, Dennis Franz plays a homicide detective who deals with hardened criminals and personal drama. But now PrimeTime Thursday asks him the tough questions.

Q: Who would you like to be stranded with on a desert island?A: If I were on an island and if I dont say I would want to be stranded with my wife, Im headed for divorce. My wife.

Q: Whats one thing people dont know about you?A: People expect from my personality a certain way of behaving. But on the contrary, I truly enjoy shopping. I like going to swap meets. And I happen to be a big fan of Martha Stewart. There goes my image.

Q: Whats the happiest moment of your life?A: My happiest moment in my life my happiest memory would be the day that I stepped off the plane from 11 months in Vietnam. And I specifically remember leaving the steps from the aircraft and placing my foot on American ground onceonce again. And I bent down and kissed it. And that was the happiest moment.

Q: What possession cant you live without?A: My music collection. I love my CD collection. I love the Beatles and ABBA and Tom Waits and James Brown and all those and all the oldies but goodies.

Q: What three people would you like to have over for dinner?A: If I could have an interesting dinner party and I hope this is understood the right way I think fascinating people I feel badly saying it: Id like to have Adolf Hitler, I would like to have Jesus Christ, and I would like to have Eleanor Roosevelt. And I think I would just sit back and watch them duke it out.

Q: What would you order for your last meal?A: If I were to order a last meal, it certainly would involve a lot of pasta. It would involve a pizza. I dont eat red meat, which is an odd thing, but I would have to indulge in a hamburger.
