text: Singer Luke Bryan accepted the award for Male Vocalist of the Year at the American Country Countdown Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, Monday.

Bryan also performed at the awards show at Music City Center, two weeks after skipping the CMA Artists of the Year special because of his brother-in-law's recent death.

"I want to get serious for just a second," he told the crowd, according to Billboard.com. "I want to thank all of my fans for the last couple of weeks in my life, for keeping my family in your prayers."
