Get to Know Mexico’s Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa
Guillermo Ochoa put in a great performance today in a 0-0 draw.
— -- Millions of World Cup viewers -- and Brazilian fans in particular -- learned a new name today: Guillermo Ochoa.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper for Mexico’s national team wowed spectators when he made six saves during the match against Brazil, refusing to let star player Neymar -– or anyone else on Brazil’s team for that matter -– score.
It was an amazing performance by Ochoa, who came up big time and time again for coach Miguel Herrera’s team.

"Thank God things turned out how they did," Ochoa told ESPN, saying it was the game of his life.
"I'm happy because I never let my hands down, I continued to work," he added. "And we have to continue this."
Just minutes after the game ended, his Wikipedia page was immediately updated, where he was cheekily nicknamed the “Mexican Jesus.” True fans know the Guadalajara native by another nickname: Memo.
Ochoa is also without a club team at the moment, making him a free agent -- and a valuable one after today’s game.
He got his start in pro soccer at age 17 playing for Club America in Mexico City in 2004 and transferred to Ajaccio in France's Ligue 1 in 2011. He left the club last month.
