— -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to have scans performed on his shoulder Tuesday that should determine how much healing has occurred since he fractured his collarbone last month.

Team doctors will evaluate the results and discuss them with Rodgers and coach Mike McCarthy. A determination is expected later Tuesday as to whether Rodgers will play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

McCarthy has said he believes the Packers (5-6-1) need to win their final four games for a chance at the playoffs, and they're winless in five games without Rodgers.

"There's a lot riding on this decision,'' a source said.

Sources in the organization say the Packers' medical staff tends to be extremely conservative, and there's concern that Rodgers (who was hurt during a loss to the Chicago Bears on Nov. 4) could be reinjured if he returns to the field prematurely.
