The Big3 basketball league is working to launch -- under quarantine -- a reality show-style, 3-on-3 tournament.

"We've been working on safety issues to make sure we can do this responsibly," Big3 executive Jeff Kwatinetz told Marc Spears of The Undefeated. "We've made a lot of headway since last week and are hoping to move this forward as people need sports and entertainment to get them through hard times."

Kwatinetz and Big3 co-founder Ice Cube have been negotiating with a high-profile TV partner to air the show.

Yahoo Sports first reported the Big3's plans.

"It's Big Brother meets BIG3," Ice Cube told Spears. "If we can do it in a safe and responsible manner, we will."

In January, the league announced some major changes including playing a completely new sport known as FIREBALL3 as the result of game innovations. The Big3 has also lowered its minimum age for qualifying athletes from 27 to 22.
