— -- Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia returned to the lineup Sunday after missing the previous game with an injured right hand.

Pedroia will bat third in the lineup Sunday as the Red Sox attempt to sweep a three-game series from the Tampa Bay Rays.

"Pedey's ready to go," manager John Farrell said Sunday morning.

Pedroia left Friday's game due to the injury and did not play in Saturday's 7-1 victory.

Farrell called the injury a "day to day situation" on Saturday, saying X-rays to Pedroia's hand came back negative and an MRI taken later showed no structural damage.

Pedroia is batting .275 with a .349 on-base percentage with two home runs and 17 RBIs while playing in 53 games.
