— -- The last time Ernie Els won a tournament on the PGA Tour was when he outlasted Adam Scott in the 2012 Open Championship. But he is in contention at the Quicken Loans National this weekend thanks to shots like this.

The eagle on No. 12 at Congressional brought the 46-year-old South African to 12 under par and two shots off the lead.

Meanwhile, Els got some help from those above him on the leaderboard. On the next hole, Jon Rahm lost his tee shot out to the right and went on to bogey the hole, which dropped him to 11 under for the tournament and one shot behind Els.

Els was one shot behind the leader, Billy Hurley III, heading into the final four holes of his third round.
