— -- CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers All-Star guard Kyrie Irving will miss at least two weeks with an arm injury.

Irving hurt his left biceps in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, and an MRI taken Monday revealed a strained tendon. The team said Irving will be shut down for two weeks and be re-evaluated.

The Cavs feared he'd suffered a tear after a mid-air collision with Clippers' Blake Griffin Sunday night that could mean his season was over.

Still, the news is a setback as the Cavs try to make a push to get the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They had a successful road trip, winning in Phoenix and Golden State before losing to the Clippers Sunday night. With 15 games left, the Cavs start the week 4½ games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 8 seed.

Also troubling is Irving missing more time because of an injury. He sat out 38 games his first two years with a variety of injuries, including a broken nose, fractured jaw, broken finger, sprained shoulder and concussion. But he'd been able to stay mostly healthy this season, missing just three games until having to leave in the first quarter Sunday. Irving, who was named All-Star Game MVP last month, leads the Cavs in scoring at 21.2 points per game and assists at 6.2 per game.

The Cavs have a challenging week, hosting the Miami Heat Tuesday, the Oklahoma City Thunder Thursday and the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
