Jontay Porter, a forward/center out of Missouri, has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced Sunday.

The deal is through 2020-21 and includes a team option, said Porter's agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports.

Porter rehabbed two separate ACL injuries in the past two years but has progressed well and is expected to be ready for training camp next season.

Porter, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr., was a five-star recruit out of high school and a projected lottery pick before the injuries.

He went undrafted in 2019 after re-tearing the ACL in his right knee that March, but Memphis was among the teams monitoring his progress and betting on his potential.

Porter, 20, averaged 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in his freshman season in 2017-18, returning for his sophomore year only to tear his ACL and MCL shortly before the season began.

"[Memphis general manager] Zach [Kleiman] and the Grizzlies were one of the teams that monitored Jontay closely, and we believe they are getting a terrific young player with incredible potential," Bartelstein said.
