New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested in Las Vegas shortly after Sunday's Pro Bowl on a battery charge, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say the alleged battery took place on Saturday. Officers were dispatched around 5:50 p.m. local time Saturday to a hospital, where the victim reported being battered at a nightclub on South Las Vegas Boulevard.

The suspect was later identified as Kamara following an investigation by police.

Kamara was located and taken into custody without incident Sunday evening, police said. He was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Neither Kamara's representatives nor the Saints were immediately reached for comment.

Kamara, 26, is one of the NFL's top running backs. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his five seasons and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2017. He did play in Sunday's game, recording 4 catches for 23 yards.
