Packers activate WR Randall Cobb

— -- CHICAGO -- The Green Bay Packers arrived in Chicago on Saturday with another of their offensive playmakers in tow.

Two days after announcing that quarterback Aaron Rodgers would return from a broken collarbone and start Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, the Packers activated receiver Randall Cobb off the injured reserve/designated to return list on Saturday.

That clears the way for Cobb to play for the first time since he fractured the tibia in his right leg on Oct. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Packers also added Cobb to the injury report on Saturday. He was listed as questionable, meaning there is no guarantee that he will be active on Sunday against the Bears.

Cobb returned to practice last week and practiced in full pads on Thursday.

"This week in practice I'm going out and preparing to play," Cobb said after Thursday's practice. "That's not my call to make. My position is to communicate with the coaches and with the training staff how I feel and just let them know that and let them make that decision."

The Packers made that decision on Saturday after putting Cobb through an extensive practice on Friday.

At the time of his injury, he was the Packers' leading receiver with 29 catches.

The Packers did not have to make a corresponding roster move because they were one short of the 53-player limit.
