Reports: LeSean McCoy won't be charged for Feb. 7 bar fight

— -- LeSean McCoy will not be charged for his alleged role in a Feb. 7 nightclub fight with off-duty Philadelphia police officers, according to multiple reports.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's office will announce its decision not to pursue charges later Monday.

Philly.com was first to report the news Monday.

McCoy's attorney, Dennis Cogan, told ESPN's Mark Schwarz that a news conference has been scheduled for Monday at 2:30 p.m. ET at the District Attorney's office but did not confirm whether charges would be filed.

Despite the fact McCoy reportedly won't be charged, the NFL will conduct its own investigation into the incident and still could impose discipline on the Buffalo Bills' running back.

The Philadelphia police department confirmed Feb. 9, after turning the case over to the DA's office, that it did not interview McCoy or the three other suspects in alleged bar fight that led to two off-duty police officers being treated for injuries.

McCoy met with Philadelphia prosecutors two weeks later, on Feb. 23, at Cogan's office. Cogan told reporters outside the office building that McCoy met with assistant city prosecutors. He wouldn't let McCoy talk with reporters but said, "the one quote I have on the public record is, 'He did nothing wrong.'"

A police report filed by the off-duty officers after the incident stated that McCoy and his party started a fight over a bottle of champagne purchased by the officers. But a source close to McCoy told The Buffalo News that one of the off-duty officers, Roland Butler, grabbed a bottle of champagne that was ordered for McCoy's table.

The DA's office has faced criticism over the perceived slow pace of its investigation.
