Richard Sherman Gets Loud

Seattle cornerback launches into tirade following NFC Championship win.

Jan. 20, 2014— -- Richard Sherman isn’t celebrating quietly.

Seattle’s outspoken cornerback tipped a pass in the final seconds of Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, leading to a Seahawks interception – and sealing his team’s 23-17 win.

Following the play, Sherman raced over to 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree and extended his hand, showy braggadocio that earned Sherman a 10-yard penalty for taunting.

Sherman’s swagger continued in a post-game interview with Fox’s Erin Andrews.

“Well I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you gonna get,” Sherman screamed into the microphone, staring into the camera as Andrews nodded along. “Don’t you ever talk about me!”

“Who was talking about you?” Andrews asked.

“Crabtree! Don’t you open your mouth about the best, or I’m gonna shut it for you real quick.”

A confused Andrews tossed back to the broadcast booth, ending the NFL season’s loudest, strangest interview.

Fans certainly heard Sherman’s shouts. Following the game, the terms “Richard Sherman,” “Erin Andrews” and “Crabtree” were all trending topics on Twitter, contributing to a tweets-per-minute peak of 174,646 - nearly reaching the height from last year's Super Bowl.
