Rio Olympics 2016: Usain Bolt to Run the 200m, Decathlon Wraps Up Tonight

Also, the decathlon medals will be awarded tonight.

— -- Day 13 of the Rio Olympics could be a very exciting one for track and field athletes.

Team USA is on track to add to its medal count, extending its lead over the U.K. and China.

Track and Field

All eyes are on Usain Bolt who will go for his eighth gold medal tonight in the 200 meter dash. The finals start at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time. LaShawn Merritt will be representing Team USA.

Bolt currently holds both the world record and the Olympic record in this race.

The decathletes will have their second day of competition, with in the 110 meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500 meter race today, and medals in will be awarded tonight. American Ashton Eaton is leading after the first five events yesterday.

The women's 400 meter hurdles is tonight at 9:15 Eastern time. Dalilah Muhammad and Ashley Spencer will be representing Team USA as they try to capture their first Olympic gold in the event.

Basketball

The U.S. women's basketball team will play France in the semifinals tonight at 6:00 Eastern time. In 2012 the women's team beat France by 36 points.

Volleyball

The top-ranked American women's volleyball team will take on Serbia in the semifinals today at noon Eastern time. Brazil, the 2008 and 2012 Olympic champions, was defeated by China in the quarterfinals.
