Security guard challenges MLB All-Stars in batting cage

— -- The head of security at a family entertainment center in Michigan has managed to grab the attention of some Major League Baseball players.

How? Well, Stanley Anderson thinks he can hit a baseball at least as well as they can -- kind of.

Anderson, 53, recently did an interview with Fox 2 in Detroit in which he showed off his ability to stand very close to a pitching machine and make contact. Remember, the standard distance between the pitching mound and home plate is 60 feet, 6 inches.

"I move up anywhere from 22 feet to 17 feet from the machine, which increases the speed," Anderson said. "Physics dictates that being that close, 17 feet, the miles per hour from regulation would be 266 miles per hour."

Better yet, Anderson challenged some big-league stars later in the interview.

"I freely challenge anybody -- [ Miguel] Cabrera, Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, any of them. I don't think they would be able to outhit me, at that range."

Well, those three sluggers haven't chimed in yet. But the Los Angeles Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez did, courtesy of teammate Justin Turner's Twitter account.

Houston Astros pitcher Mike Fiers is aware too.

Now we just have to wait for the All-Stars to get involved.
