Let it snow: Weather wreaks havoc on MLB Opening Day

The calendar has turned to April, which means it's time to put the winter gloves away, get the baseball gloves out and ... oh no. What's this?

Unfortunately for the Cleveland Indians, the snow didn't stop in time for them to play their season opener against the Boston Red Sox, and the game was moved to Tuesday. Not that they would've had better luck if the game had been played in Boston.

The scene wasn't much better in the Bronx, where Boston's hated rivals, the New York Yankees, were also welcomed to the 2016 regular season by some early-morning snow. It eventually changed to rain, but that minor improvement wasn't enough for the Bombers to get their game in against the visiting Houston Astros.

It's the first time the Yankees have been rained out on Opening Day since 2008 -- which was supposed to be the last Opening Day in the old Yankee Stadium. It's been a bit longer for the Indians, who hadn't had a season opener postponed since 1996, coincidentally enough against the Yankees.
