TCU moves into CFP first four

— -- TCU moved into the top four and Oregon jumped into second ahead of undefeated Florida State in the third College Football Playoff rankings.

TCU defeated Kansas State 41-20 on Saturday for its fourth straight win and moved ahead of Auburn and Alabama, which were ranked third and fifth, respectively, in last week's CFP rankings.

One-loss Oregon, which defeated Utah 51-27 on Saturday, moved up to No. 2. Mississippi State held the No. 1 spot for the third straight week.

Alabama and Arizona State were the first two teams out. Baylor, Ohio State, Auburn and Ole Miss rounded out the rest of the top 10.

UCLA moved up seven spots to No. 11, while Michigan State dropped four spots to No. 12 following its loss to Ohio State. Kansas State, Arizona and Georgia were ranked 13th through 15th, respectively.

Nebraska and LSU slipped to No. 16 and No. 17, respectively. Notre Dame, following its loss to Arizona State, fell eight spots to No. 18. Clemson moved up to No. 19, and Wisconsin jumped five spots to No. 25.

Nos. 20 through 25 include Duke, Georgia Tech, Utah, Texas A&M and Minnesota.

The 12-person selection committee will chose the four playoff teams on Dec. 7.
