TechBytes: Apple Ping Update
iPhone 4 hits China, home-movie viewing.
Sept. 27, 2010— -- Apple Ping is taking a big jump. The music social-networking site now lets users post what they're listening to, or click when they like other people's selections. The change helps integrate Ping with users' iTunes libraries, something many users said it desperately needed.
It seems people in China can't get enough of the iPhone 4. About 200,000 have been pre-ordered since pre-orders began in China Saturday, according to the The Wall Street Journal. The pre-orders are quickly outpacing supplies. An Apple representative said more iPhone 4s will be available soon.
And would you like to watch movies at home, shortly after they're in theatres? Sony, Warner Brothers and ABC's parent company, Disney, are discussing plans to release new movies to cable just after their theatre run, according to Bloomberg News. The new service would reportedly cost $30 a flick.
