Oct. 25, 2010— -- Barnes & Noble is looking to win over the next generation of eReaders. The bookseller is launching Nook Kids, a digital collection of more than 12,000 books, including picture books, novels and enhanced editions of classics.

The titles will be available using a Nook Kids app for the iPad and other devices, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Amazon is making it easier to share electronic books. Kindle owners will soon be able to lend the books they buy for 14 days. The feature will work with another Kindle or a Kindle app for other mobile devices. Each book can only be lent once, and the lender cannot read the book during that time. The feature will be available later this year.

It's the end of an era for one revolutionary music device. Sony has stopped making the cassette Walkman. The final batch shipped earlier this year. Sony has sold about 200 million Walkman since they went on sale in 1979.
