Nov. 10, 2009— -- One of the most highly anticipated video games of the year arrives today. The first person shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 goes on sale. It's the fifth game in the franchise and fans are expected to spend at least half a billion dollars on it in the first week. PopSci's Jake Ward says the game is incredibly violent and also sets a new bar for realism. "This really is an amazing game. It's really all encompassing, it's full of tension and cinematic devices that really draw your attention in," Ward says. "I think this game is one of the rare games that has an incredible amount of hype surrounding it and really delivers in the end," he raves. The game is available for PCs, the X-box 360 and PlayStation 3.

The world's biggest cell phone company has announced a major recall. Nokia is recalling 14 million cell phone chargers because their plastic covers might come loose, exposing people to an electric shock.The company says it will replace them for free. The chargers, bearing Nokia's name and made by Chinese battery and auto part maker BYD Company, are models AC-3E and AC-3U, made between June 15 and Aug. 9 this year; and AC-4U, manufactured between April 13 and Oct. 25, 2009. They were mostly sold in Europe and North America.

Coughing into your cell phone could soon save you a trip to the doctor's office. Scientists are working on software that can diagnose cold, flu, pneumonia or other respiratory diseases by analyzing coughs.Coughs contain subtle clues that can help doctors make a diagnosis in seconds.

A new study shows the divide between men and women when it comes to technology. A British company found very different approaches to dealing with problems. Only 36% of men actually read the instruction manual before calling the help line while 76% percent of women take the time to read it first. One expert says men treat technology as something to be conquered while women just want their gadgets to work for them.
