— -- According to Apple, the iPod Nano is its best-selling iPod. The company recently announced the availability of the third generation of the gadget, which is even smaller than previous versions with a width of only 6.5 millimeters.

Apart from adding video, the iPod Nano also includes the new "cover flow" technology, which lets users navigate music based on album art. Similar to the iPod classic, the Nano also includes the ability to play games (it comes with three of them, preinstalled) and the option to purchase more through iTunes.

The battery life of the new Nano is also vastly superior. It can play about 24 hours of music or five hours of video with a single charge.

Starting at $149 for the 4 gigabyte model and $199 for the 8GB model, the Nano strikes the perfect balance between size, functionality and capacity.
