Wing Shoes at the Prez in Flash Game

— -- Well that didn’t take long. I only read about “Shoegateâ€? this morning, and here we are by midday with a game capitalizing on the debacle, a hastily dashed off Flash game snidely titled Bush’s Boot Camp. Hardy har, I think.

You heard the news, right? Yesterday Baghdadiya TV correspondent Muntadar al-Zaidi decided to wing two shoes (his own, presumably) at George W. Bush, calling him a "dog" as the president stood behind a podium beside Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Bush ducked and was hit by neither. Afterward, he quipped "All I can report is it is a size 10."

The Flash game doesn’t amount to much. Someone was too hurried to fiddle with their stock art library, it seems, so on load, you’re actually looking at a pair of hands holding pistols pointed at Bush, which -- however you feel about the president -- has an unsettling visual vibe. Until you click the left mouse button, that is, and puffs of smoke precede pieces of footwear that catapult through the air from off-screen. Bush health diminishes each time you score a hit, and the game ends when his health meter zeroes out.

"If you watch the video clip, the Secret Service don't move to protect the President until the second shoe has been thrown," said Sadi Chishti, managing director of T-Enterprise, speaking to Telegraph. "We're hoping the agents will use this game as a training aid for future footwear attacks on world leaders."

Other viral designs by Glasgow-based developer T-Enterprise include Puck Palin, Hillary vs. Barack, and Heather Mills: Mucca Chucka.
