— -- DataViz has shipped a version of its Microsoft Office-compatible mobile productivity suite, Docs to Go, for Android handsets--a major boost for the young open-source handset platform's prospects for adoption by corporate users.

In its announcement at CTIA in Las Vegas, DataViz says the Android version of Docs to Go, which will allow people with T-Mobile G1 and other Android-based handsets to download and edit Word and Excel documents, are available exclusively through the Android Market. For a limited time, the mobile suite will cost $20, or one-third off the usual $30 price, the company says.

Additionally, DataViz has made a free beta of its RoadSync application for push synchronization of Exchange e-mail available for Android handsets. DataViz had announced both Android productivity apps earlier, but they're now finally available.

Also at CTIA, DataViz rival QuickOffice, meanwhile, also announced a new mobile Office suite--for the iPhone.
