CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida -- Space shuttle Atlantis and its crew are trying to land in Florida, but bad weather is forecast there for a second straight day.

The shuttle is trying to return to Kennedy Space Center on Saturday morning after successfully fixing the Hubble Space Telescope during a 12-day mission.

Rainy weather prevented the shuttle from attempting a landing Friday.

NASA has three opportunities to bring Atlantis back to the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday.

Atlantis could also land at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The weather there looks good, but NASA prefers to save money and return to its home base in Florida.

If the weather in Florida looks like it will clear Sunday, the space agency could opt to land then.

Atlantis can stay in space through Monday.
