TechBytes: Apple Security Flaw Discovered

Security hole would allow hackers remote access to devices.

July 8, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes: a security flaw in iSecurity. Apple says it is working on fixing a security hole in the software of its iPhones, iPads and the iPod Touch.

The weakness was found by a German government agency.

App Store Milestone

Meanwhile, Apple's app store has hit a milestone. Fifteen billion applications have been downloaded over the past three years. There are now 425,000 apps available for download.

Speaking of apps, Nielsen says games are the most popular among smartphone users. About two-thirds of those surveyed downloaded at least one in a 30-day period.

Weather apps are a close second and social networking apps like Facebook and Twitter round out the top three.

iPhone SLR Mount

A company called Photojojo has found a way to attach professional camera lenses right to your iPhone.

The mount sells for about $200, depending on which iPhone you have, and is compatible with both Nikon and Canon lenses.
