TechBytes: Sony PlayStation Network Further Delayed

Testing continues on the beleaguered gaming network.

May 9, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes: PlayStation network users will have to wait a little longer. Sony is holding off on restoring the service so that it can conduct additional testing to make sure personal data is safe. Last month, Sony admitted that the PlayStation network had been hacked, and the accounts of more 100 million customers compromised. No word on how much longer the network would be down.

Revamping AOL

Its chief executive says America Online isn't washed up. Tim Armstrong had promised that AOL would "disrupt" the online industry later this year but told told The New York Times that it would probably take another two years for AOL to turn the corner and shake things up.

Obama's Humor Is a Hit

President Obama has another online hit on his hands. His humorous speech at the White House correspondents dinner has received more than 7.2 million hits, which is more than the video of his speech announcing the death of Osama bin Laden the following day.
