July 27, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, Walmart is taking on Netflix. The world's largest retailer now has a non-subscription video-streaming service.

Movies can be rented for $1 to $6 each and purchased for $5 and up. The videos can be watched on just about any device that has Internet access.

Last week, Apple released its new Lion operating system and sold 1 million copies in the first day.

As the Wall Street Journal's Katie Boehret pointed out, those who don't have much experience with the iPhone or iPad may be facing a big learning curve,

"They're trying to bring more direct manipulation, like you have on a touch screen device, to the computer," Boehret said. "So it will take time to get used to these changes, and like any new operating system, a lot of people put up some resistance after using the same thing day in and day out."

She said that those who want to transition more slowly can turn off some of the new features easily.
