United States of Emoji Map May Surprise You

— -- It may come as no surprise that New Yorkers are most likely to use the Statue of Liberty emoji, but who would have thought Nevadans favored the eggplant character?
A new report from SwiftKey, a keyboard app for iOS and Android, looked at more than one billion emoji entered in the United States to determine which state is most likely to use a certain character over all of the others.
Perhaps the most pivotal finding from the report is who uses the ever-popular poop emoji the most -- an honor bestowed on Vermont. Hawaiians like the surfer emoji while surprisingly Minnesotans, not Georgians, use the peach more than any other state.
Each state's signature emoji was determined it the use was more than its average usage in the United States as a whole, along with a weighted average treating each state's usage equally to account for population differences.
