ABC News' Christiane Amanpour to Interview Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on the Eve of the Publication of his Memoirs

— -- Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will sit down this week with ABC News' Christiane Amanpour for a series of interviews to air exclusively on "World News with Diane Sawyer," "Good Morning America," "Nightline," and "This Week." These will be Mr. Blair's first North American broadcast interviews in advance of the release of his anticipated memoir, "A Journey," which has been described as a revealing account of his ten years in office and beyond.

Mr. Blair was the Labour Party's longest serving Prime Minister from 1997-2007. In "A Journey," Blair writes about the challenges he faced as Prime Minister. Ms. Amanpour will discuss with him his role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland, his support of the Bush Administration's decision to go to war in Iraq, his relationship with the United States, and his reflection on his relations with Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, and with the Queen and the late Princess Diana.

Interviews are scheduled to air on "World News" Wednesday, September 1, "Good Morning America" and "Nightline" on Thursday, September 2, and on "This Week with Christiane Amanpour" Sunday, September 5.
