How do AirTran, JetBlue and Southwest stack up on the BWI-Boston route?

— -- JetBlue's launch of service between Boston and Baltimore/Washington on Wednesday may signal an era of increased competition between the USA's most successful low-cost carriers. For one of the first times ever on a route outside Florida, Southwest, AirTran and JetBlue are competing head to head between the same markets using the same airports. With that, some industry observers are sure to analyze the route for clues as to what might happen on future routes where the low-cost rivals bump in to each other.
