— -- Talk about your road warriors: Atlas Van Lines operators usually log 50,000 to 125,000 miles each year crisscrossing the USA on major highways. The most scenic, according to the company's fifth annual King of the Road survey? I-70, which starts in Cove Fort, Utah, and encompasses spectacular views of the Rockies on its way east toward Baltimore.

Judged safest (as well as most boring): I-10, which runs across the southern USA from Santa Monica, Calif., to Jacksonville.

Other faves from the 550 van operators participating in the survey include Super 8 motels, Subway fast food and Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
