— -- Master chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck oversees a gastronomic empire that includes 15 fine dining restaurants, a catering business, casual eateries, consumer products and more. Look for No. 16, Five-Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, to open in Dallas later this month. He shares his travel highlights and tips.

Q: Where have you been recently that you liked or were surprised by?

A:Dallas, a great city, with great restaurants, fun and my favorite small museum, the Nasher Sculpture Center and garden. And I'm very excited to open a restaurant on top of the Reunion Tower 560 feet in the air with a great view of the skyline of Dallas.

Q: What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

A:Capri, Italy. I like everything about it. Great food and people dress very well when they go out at night. Exciting night life and especially fun if you have a boat.

Q: What's the most surprising/unexpected place you're ever visited and why?

A:Nerano, Campania, Italy. A small fishing village with two of my favorite Italian restaurants. One is called Quattro Passi and the other, Lo Scoglio.

Q: What's your favorite vacation spot and why?

A:Maui, The Four Seasons Hotel in Wailea. Great for parents and kids and beautiful weather. The ocean is always warm and there's lots to do for the children.

Q: Can you offer an insider tip or recommendation for your favorite vacation place?

A:When you are in Capri, rent a boat and make the trip to Nerano, about 30 minutes away. Before leaving, call Chef Tonino at Ristorante Quattro Passi for your lunch reservation. As you arrive in Nerano, he will pick you up in his golf cart and take you to his restaurant. You will end up through the wine cellar where you can sample some wonderful antipasto with a glass of Ca' del Bosco brut. Then he will guide you up to the dining room, and you will enjoy some of the tastiest pastas and great local fish and wild strawberries and gelato for dessert. I really like the wines from the Campania region. To top it all off, you will have a great view of Positano and the whole Amalfi coast.
