Airfare bargains on new international routes

— -- Even though many airlines are cutting back on service these days, some carriers are launching new international routes in 2009 to capitalize on new markets. Flying on these new routes allows you to take advantage of introductory sale fares and associated frequent flier deals. Here's a look at new international service set to take to the sky in the coming months.

New Europe routes

•United launches service between Washington, D.C., (Dulles) and Moscow on March 29. Sample fares start at $702 round-trip plus taxes and fees. •American launches service between Dallas (DFW) and Madrid, on May 1. Sample fares start at $1,027 round-trip plus taxes and fees. •Continental launches service between Cleveland and London (LHR) on May 2. Sample fares start at $698 round-trip plus taxes and fees. •US Airways launches service between Charlotte and Paris (CDG) on April 21. Sample fares start at $874 round-trip plus taxes and fees. •Delta launches service between New York (JFK) and Valencia, Spain, on June 5. Sample fares start at $866 round-trip plus taxes and fees. •Delta launches service between New York (JFK) and Zurich, Switzerland, on June 8.
