— -- The restaurant at The James hotel in Chicago is hailing the chief's birthday with a special dessert.

On President Obama's 48th birthday Tuesday, David Burke's Primehouse will serve "Yes we (cake in a) can" treats. The red velvet cake with cream-cheese frosting and blue sprinkles is free to patrons and is being sent to the White House.

Meanwhile, the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego will give "pot brownies" to guests gratis Aug. 14-16 to honor the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. The brownies (free of illegal substances) are on the menu at the hotel restaurant, Maryjane's. The name was popular slang for marijuana back in the Woodstock day, by the way.
