Amazing Video Shows Shark Leap Out of Ocean Near Surfer
Great white shot out of sea like a missile, photographer said.

— -- Viral video shows what appears to be a great white shark leaping out of the sea right next to a surfer in southern California.
Photographer Tom Kampas filmed the clip at El Porto Beach on Dec. 21, and said he didn't even see the shark until he rewatched the footage later at home.
"All of a sudden that great white came up from out of the water behind the surfer like a Polaris missile," he said. "It all happened so quick and I don't think that guy was even aware of it."
Kampas said he shared the footage with the Shark Research Institute, which confirmed the shark was a great white.
