— -- A team of burglars rammed a stolen SUV through a Bloomingdale's store in Palo Alto, California, and stole a large amount of jewelry early this morning, police said today.

Surveillance footage caught the incident, which happened around 4:14 a.m. today, according to police, who said the burglars were in and out of the store in just over a minute.

The red 1989 Jeep Cherokee can be seen on video reversing and smashing through the store's front glass doors.

"The three suspects used some form of tool (perhaps hammers) to break the glass jewelry display cases," the Palo Alto Police Department said in a statement. "The suspects then stole the jewelry and ran to the waiting SUV to escape."

An officer found the stolen vehicle unoccupied a few hours later, and detectives are processing the vehicle for evidence, police added.

The unidentified robbery suspects are still at large, and Bloomingdale's personnel are working on taking inventory of exactly how much jewelry the suspects stole and how much the stolen goods were worth, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the department's 24-hour dispatch center at (650) 329-2413. Anonymous tips can be emailed to paloalto@tipnow.org or sent via text message or voice mail to (650) 383-8984.
