— -- The Central Intelligence Agency joined Twitter with a bang last year, getting nearly 300,000 retweets for its first-ever tweet.

This week, the nation's top spy agency is celebrating its first “Twittervesary” in an equally memorable way, by doing what could be a first for a government agency: tweeting a cat photo.

The furry feline-focused tweet came at the end of a five-item list of “reasons why you should follow @CIA.”

The CIA has sent out 817 tweets in its first year and garnered 817,000 followers.
