March 27, 2014— -- Two felines are making a purr-fect recovery after they were rescued from a burning house by Seattle firefighters.

The cats were "lifeless" and overcome by smoke when firefighters rescued them from a home in Columbia City on Wednesday, Seattle Fire spokesman Kyle Moore told ABCNews.com.

Once firefighters were able to bring the cats outside, Moore said they were immediately given oxygen and revived.

Neighbors with animal carriers cared for the cats until the owners returned, he said.

Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as accidental and said the blaze happened after improperly discarded smoking materials were left on the back porch.
