— -- This weekend a fifth western hostage, US aid worker Peter Kassig, was killed by ISIS militants, and the town of Ferguson, Mo., remained on edge as new video surfaced showing Officer Darren Wilson in the hours after he fatally shot an unarmed African-American teenager.

1. Judge Rules Canadian Girl Cannot Be Forced to Have Chemotherapy

The family of a Canadian girl with leukemia will not be forced to give her chemotherapy, after a judge's ruling on Friday.

The girl is a member of the Six Nations tribe of American Indians in Canada and her family argued they should be allowed to give her holistic treatments. On Friday Ontario Court Justice Gethin Edward ruled the court could not intervene due to the family's aboriginal rights under the Canadian constitution.

2. Norovirus Hits Cruise Ship Six Months After Earlier Outbreak

A cruise ship was headed back to port Sunday after an outbreak of the flu-like norovirus. The nasty stomach bug infected 172 people aboard the Crown Princess cruise ship, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This is not the first time the ship has been hit with a gastrointestinal-related outbreak. Six months ago another outbreak of the norovirus and E.coli infection led to more than 150 people being infected on the same boat.

Princess Cruises, which owns the ship, announced they have started disinfectant protocols and to deep clean the ship.

3. G20 Leaders Get Cozy With Koalas

The world leaders at the G20 summit had plenty of important topics on their plate, but none quite as important as their koala meeting.

The leaders of the most important countries in the world all got to take a break from the summit being held Brisbane, Australia to hang out with a few very adorable koalas.

Even President Barack Obama got a good laugh after holding his cuddly new friend.

4. Ice Forms on Lake Superior Weeks Ahead of Schedule

Winter has arrived early for most of the country including the great lakes region, where ice has already started forming on Lake Superior.

Normally the ice appears several weeks later in the season, but especially cold temperatures have changed all that.

Residents near the lake should at least be prepared. Last year Lake Superior set the a record for the longest length of time that ice was observed on the lake.

A Washington woman is pleading to have thieves return the ashes of her late husband after thieves took an entire safe from her home.

Dede Thomason said thieves took the entire 400-pound safe that she used to hold both precious jewelry like her engagement ring and the remains of her late husband. She said she doubts the thieves could have known at the time what they were taking, but hopes now they will find a way to return the ashes to her.
