1. Argo Wins Best Picture at Oscars

Ben Affleck and his film "Argo" took home the top prize at the Oscars on Sunday night. Jennifer Lawrence won best actress for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook" while Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in "Lincoln."

2. 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Japan

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Japan overnight, with the strongest shaking felt about 100 miles north of Tokyo. There were no immediate damages reports of damage at nuclear plants.

3. Gas Prices Jump 20 Cents in Two Weeks

New research from the Lundberg Survey found that gas prices have jumped 20 cents over the past two weeks, making for a total rise of 54 cents over the past nine weeks. A gallon of regular, self-serve gasoline costs an average of $3.80 nationwide. The speed of the spike has slowed down substantially.

4. Johnson Wins 55th Daytona 500

Jimmie Johnson won the 55th Daytona 500 on Sunday, while Danica Patrick came in 8th place. Patrick made history at the race, becoming the first woman to lead a lap in the Sprint Cup series.

5. Affleck Spends Oscar Sunday at Spelling Bee
