1. Turkish Protesters Use Fireworks to Battle Cops
Protesters in Istanbul's Taksim Square fought running battles with police, sending fireworks into police lines while being forced back with tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons.

2. Colorado Wildfires Torching Expensive Homes
Cooler temperatures and calmer winds helped break major wildfires northeast of Colorado Springs that prompted the evacuation of 2,300 homes, affecting about 6,400 people, officials say.

3. State Dept. Denies Report of Prostitutes, Cover-Ups
The State Department is strongly denying allegations from a former department investigator who claimed top officials tried to halt or delay several potentially damaging investigations including the solicitation of prostitutes.

4. NJ Town to Vote on Saggy Pants Ban
A law is set to pass today that will ban anyone on Wildwood, N.J.'s boardwalk from wearing pants that sag more than three inches below the hips. Violators may face fines of $25 to $100 for a first offense and $200 for subsequent offenses.
