— -- A woman in labor -- who had been driving herself to the hospital -- gave birth on the side of a Utah highway.

Devi Ostler, 32, was on her way to the Brigham City Hospital on Saturday when her water broke, the Utah Department of Public Safety said.

She called 911 and when the dispatcher "realized the woman was not going to make it to the hospital," she told her to pull over, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The trooper said this was his first time delivering a baby, according to the Department of Public Safety.
